SURVEILLANCE ROOM

Artist: Assaf Hinden | Curator: Guy Weizman

Inspired by the late 90’s aesthetics and promise of an “online community”, challenged by the excitement and disappointment of platforms such as ICQ, Netflix and Chatroulette, the project presents an alternative: an experience based platform enforced by slow-art.

A place where you can consume innovative digital interdisciplinary art, and meet others who are as curious as you are.

Artist: Chen Cohen Curator: Assaf Hinden "This room has no physical form, no mass nor weight. It contains translated - coded - processed information in pictorial from, loaded with rituals that challenge the exact opposite: the physical body - Its fragility, health and its state during extreme conditions. By sharing the most intimate and unstable moments, the individual transforms the solo act into a social phenomenon of solitude and unity, into a new form of togetherness."

Surveillance Room

Surveillance Room

Artist: Assaf Hinden Curator: Guy Weizman "This room is serving as a space where information can be monitored and controlled by the operator, Assaf Hinden. Unlike common surveillance rooms, this one is accessible to the hotel visitors. It is not designed to keep the information within the system, but to share and celebrate it without any clear order or logic. The Surveillance room main concern is to monitor the interactions among the hotel art works, visitors and overall system performances."
